Someone once told me that one TM is never enough. I learned that very quickly after bringing our girl Chibana home and I decided that I needed a very special boy. After speaking with several people, I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity of obtaining my puppy from Kunzang in cooperation with the Chenporewa kennel in Estonia, one of the best breeders in the TM world in my opinion. My 9-year old son Bryce and I made the journey to Estonia a few months later and met up with the wonderful people of Chenporewa, Kunzang kennels and their gorgeous dogs. Good health and temperament are priorities for me so I was very impressed by the beauty and temperaments of the Tibetan Mastiffs we met there. I consider that we were very fortunate to bring home the most huggable, sweet puppy boy. His name is Aragorn and he is our real life TEDDY BEAR.

With all of his charm, Aragorn has broken all our house rules. How could we say no to our teddy bear? He even earned the privilege of jumping on our bed with good morning greetings of hugs and kisses. Aragorn has a very mild temperament, shows every confidence, is very smart and loves to play. He is becoming a great combination of his grandfather Prince from Chenporewa and his father Cambu. We very much enjoy watching his development.

We are forever thankful to the Kunzang and Chenporewa breeders for not only trusting us with one of their outstanding puppies but also for their warm welcome. They treated us as if we were old friends. The same welcome was extended to us by Marge at Grisran Kennel as we spent a few hours with her and her beautiful Sanpo. This trip will forever remain in our hearts and memories as one of the best times that my son and I shared.

After extensive research on the Tibetan Mastiff breed, I felt that I had developed a sense of exactly what I was looking for in my first TM. My search led me to Sandra and her kennel Domaine de Toundra in France. Her very nice male by the name of Udaipour caught my eye with his sweet eyes, beautiful head and long flowing coat. Because of him I made inquiries about his future breeding plans. Sandra let me know that he was going to be put to Quincy, a lovely daughter of the much sought after male Tianwei, a male of direct Asian descent. Once the litter arrived, Sandra made it very easy for me to decide on a female from the group with an abundance of correspondence and photos.

My family was very excited about our new acquisition and my 5-year old daughter Natasha joined me and my my mother from Portugal to make the journey to France. Together we made a very memorable trip to pick up our beautiful Tibetan Mastiff puppy that we named Chibana.

A tall strong female, Chibana is a jet black with striking deep mahogany markings. She is maturing into a very noble young lady and is very dedicated to her family. She takes her job of guarding us and our property very seriously. She is friendly but aloof with visitors. She thoroughly enjoys the hugs and attention from the children that come to play.
